Endings are hard. When something comes to an end, the experience of loss surfaces. It is normal to feel confused, upset, or disoriented upon endings. The experience of loss can never be dismissed or overlooked. For loss can be a great teacher, a special opportunity. Turing toward these difficult emotions, feeling them, and crying out is vital. Such actions let us understand what must be let go so new beginnings can emerge. Endings are necessary to pave the way for new beginnings, a fresh start. A fresh start offers an opportunity for longing, envisioning, and dreaming. New beginnings or rebirths provide an opportunity to seek, enact, and become what we desire.
The notion of endings as beginnings is deeply connected to evolution and transformation. For transformations to occur endings have to happen. The past version of you has to die for rebirth to occur. Winter welcomes a seasonal space for retreat, reflexion- a time for recreation and regeneration. It brings natural darkness, emptiness, stillness; restoration, and renewal. Winter invites consideration for the lessons learned over the past year. A time to understand what is getting in the way of desires, a space to let these die, and the room for reconstruction. The most challenging part is tuning into what must be let go of to move forward. It takes inner strength, courage, and faith.
This winter, take time for inner work. Travel within and decide what is not working, let go of what is blocking you, and welcome the regenerative process.
